There is the island of Agios Nikolaos where dominates a Venetian castle known today as the castle of Ai Nikolas. It used to be the main fortress of the island&#8217;s inhabitants. He protected them from pirates and Ottoman invasions.<\/p><p>The castle began to built in 1423 and was completed in 1510. On the island is the church of Agios Spyridon of George Anemogiannis, which is on the list of 1686 and was renovated in 1750. In 1686 the icon of the Virgin Mary that the Veliantates had brought with them from Souli was transferred there. It is a beautiful island full of beaches and coves, with small forests of pines, cypresses and vineyards. An island that will enchant you with its irresistible charm!<\/p><p>For this reason, when you \u00a0visit Paxos, dedicate a whole day to Antipaxos and be sure that it will be a day that you will never forget!<\/p><p>Usually the destinations of \u00a0boat trips are to the beaches, but the small port of Antipaxos is just as beautiful too. Even more impressive is the landscape with the rich vegetation around the beach. The landscape is similar to Voutoumi, but the beach here is more sandy.
